The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) in Midnight Violet are premium true wireless noise-cancelling earbuds designed for music, travel, commuting, workouts, calls, and everyday listening. They combine advanced active noise cancellation, CustomTune personalized sound, Bose Immersive Audio, enhanced call processing, Bluetooth multipoint connectivity, Snapdragon Sound support, wireless case charging, and a customizable secure fit. The Midnight Violet finish features a deep indigo-violet exterior with lighter violet accents while retaining the same core acoustic and wireless capabilities as other second-generation variants.

Quiet Mode provides strong active noise cancellation for focused listening in noisy environments such as airplanes, trains, offices, and commuting. Aware Mode allows environmental sound to pass through when situational awareness is needed, while updated ActiveSense processing helps soften sudden spikes in surrounding noise for a more comfortable transparency experience.

CustomTune Technology automatically analyzes the acoustic response of the listener’s ears and adjusts both sound reproduction and active noise cancellation accordingly. The calibration occurs automatically when the earbuds are inserted, creating a more personalized listening profile without requiring a manual hearing test or extended setup process.

Bose Immersive Audio expands conventional stereo into a broader spatial presentation designed to make music, movies, podcasts, and other content feel less confined to the physical location of the earbuds. The processing works with ordinary stereo content rather than requiring specially encoded spatial-audio material.

Each earbud incorporates four microphones, creating an eight-microphone system across the pair. Bose combines the microphone array with adaptive filtering and background-noise suppression to help isolate the user’s voice from wind, traffic, office chatter, and other environmental sounds during calls. Either earbud can also be used independently for compatible audio and calling functions.

Wireless connectivity uses Bluetooth 5.3 with a range of up to approximately 30 feet under suitable conditions. Bluetooth multipoint allows two compatible source devices to remain connected simultaneously, making it easier to transition between devices such as a smartphone and computer.

Support for Snapdragon Sound and aptX Adaptive provides enhanced wireless audio capabilities on compatible source devices. aptX Adaptive can dynamically adjust for audio quality or lower latency depending on connection conditions, while SBC and AAC provide broad compatibility across other Bluetooth devices.

Battery life reaches up to approximately 6 hours per charge with Immersive Audio turned off and up to approximately 4 hours with Immersive Audio enabled. The charging case provides approximately 18 additional hours of listening, while a 20-minute quick charge can provide up to approximately two hours of playback.

The charging case supports both USB-C and wireless charging, providing flexible wired and cable-free charging options. Three silicone eartip sizes and three stability-band sizes provide up to nine fit combinations, helping users optimize comfort, acoustic seal, and physical stability. The earbuds also carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating for protection against sweat, splashes, and light rain.
